ifm efector gmbh specializes primarily in the development and production of sensors and processing electronics for position detection. The physical basis for this is formed by inductive, magnetic, capacitive and optical sensor technologies, PMD technology and corresponding signal processing. ifm efector installs structures and processes that are suitable for developing and producing products for different product groups. These are inductive proximity switches, magnetic sensors, capacitive manual switches and sensors, valve sensors, optical sensors, radar sensors and rotary encoders.
The merger of ifm efector and ifm syntron is intended to bundle strengths and know-how and secure the joint future by increasing innovative strength. In addition, the “Position Sensors” division is to be strengthened within the ifm group of companies.
The Tettnang Bechlingen site will continue to focus on “Position presence and distance sensors”. This means the development and production of position sensors with a focus on high-volume physical operating principles. The Tettnang Bürgermoos site will focus on “Position sensor systems”. The focus is on the development and production of sensor systems with a high proportion of software and high-performance processors. A major topic and objective will be the establishment of a joint innovative area for the comprehensive development of applications and solutions.
